72 hand-tied flies for the water that humbles everyone: tailwaters and spring creeks, where trout get a long, slow look and eat only what's perfect. This is the technical box — small, sparse, and barbless from end to end.
It's built around what actually feeds fish on rivers like the Bighorn, Missouri, and San Juan: a deep midge bench (Zebra Midges, Mercury, Black Beauty, Top Secret — the patterns the South Platte guides swear by), baetis emergers and duns (RS2, WD-40, Sparkle Duns, Juju Baetis), scuds and sowbugs, and just enough attractor (egg, Squirmy) to call a fish up.
Our flies are hand-tied in small batches, so individual patterns can vary slightly in size, color, or style from what's pictured — what never changes: every pack contains 72 tailwater flies, 3 of each pattern.
Every fly is tied barbless for clean releases and better hookups on light tippet — exactly how technical water should be fished. Sizes generally run 12 to 22 — the small stuff that matters when trout are keyed in.
